A very Happy Easter to you all from the children and staff here in southern Haiti. It was a busy week with all the liturgical celebrations. A visitor took photos last evening at the Easter Vigil but we can't upload them with the current internet system. Someday!
Woosman is doing really well and plans on attending school tomorrow. Evenson should be back here tomorrow and will be staying in our infirmary until he is well enough to restart his normal activities. No soccer for a while. Thank you for your prayers and support.
May the light of Christ shine on you all.
God bless.
Father Marc

Palm Sunday
Here's a shot of the procession this morning from the boys' neighborhood as we headed towards the kitchen/dining room for Mass. Everyone participated and it was a very full house. The younger ones were amazingly patient as the Passion of the Lord was read.
By the way, the palms are local and were undoubtedly fresher than the ones you used.
A very blessed Holy Week to you all.

Good news
The scans were finally read by the neuro-surgeon and both boys are doing fine even though both have fractures. Evenson has a skull fracture and I don't know where Woosman's is located. Evenson is eating and drinking well and itching to get up and about. Doc says "Not yet". Woosman is coming home tomorrow and his friends here were real excited to hear that bit of news. He'll be going to "Hopital Brenda" in Cayes for follow-up.
Again, thank you for your prayers and support.

Medical Update 2
Spoke with Miss Chery, our nurse caring for Evenson in PaP, and she is very pleased with his recovery. He is now speaking and fully conscious. Says he's hungry but the doctor wants to wait a bit before allowing him to eat.
Woosman is at his brother's place in PaP, had his head scanned and things look up. He is still in pain (especially when speaking) but looks forward to coming home and hitting the books.
We are most grateful for the prayers. Please keep them coming.

Update
Thank you for your thoughts, kind words and prayers. Woosman is temporarily staying with some family in PaP waiting on the results from the scan taken earlier this week. He is mostly coherent and able to ambulate though he has pain on the left front side of his head and his left ear. The scan will tell us if he has a fracture.
Evenson is still in a coma but is sleeping restfully and even moves naturally in his bed. Was seen cracking his knuckles yesterday. He has opened his eyes but has not spoken. The neurosurgeon is cautiously optimistic.
Don't stop praying. Thank you.

Prayers requested
Two of our older boys were heading to visit family not far from town this morning. They were involved in a horrible accident. Both were rushed to the local General Hospital. One is doing better though the doctors are keeping him there for observation as he had some head injuries. The other, Evenson, is not doing well at all. The doctors decided that he had to go to PaP as Les Cayes does not have the necessary facilities for this kind of trauma. Evenson has not been conscious and has a large wound on his scalp. He made the trip (which is good) but was turned away from three medical facilities and is now on his way to the PaP General Hospital. Please pray for both the boys but especially for Evenson. Thank you.
