Stay informed, stay involved: here's one way of keeping up with what's happening in southern Haiti. Please consider supporting our mission to save orphans and vulnerable children from desperate poverty; contributions can be sent to our partners at Free the Kids - www.freethekids.org. Thank you for your help.
Fr.Marc, I was doing some research and I think you should consider planting soybeans. Soybeans used to be planted in the days of cotton in the south. The soy plants were used between cotton harvests to help replenish the soil. In addition, soy has so many uses and is up tp 45% protein - which the kids could use. The protein produced by soy is a complete protein which usually comes from animals, making soy a very inexpensive form of nutrition. I will look into the labor needed and get back to you.
