Above are the first two verses of the Easter proclamation which was beautifully sung by Jean Levelt Prosper at the Easter Vigil last evening. Yes, it was sung in Creole so the children could understand. My favorite translation is the French one but most of the children have a hard time understanding French so Creole it was. Look up the Exsultet in your missal or on the net. It is an extraordinarily eloquent and joyful prayer that captures the essence of Easter.
