Here's the latest photo of the modified African toilet. It will be all finished and ready for paint in a week's time. Thanks to Rotary International for funding this project. This particular unit is destined for use by the secondary school students and teachers.
Stay informed, stay involved: here's one way of keeping up with what's happening in southern Haiti. Please consider supporting our mission to save orphans and vulnerable children from desperate poverty; contributions can be sent to our partners at Free the Kids - www.freethekids.org. Thank you for your help.

Update
Rotary International has provided us with a grant that allows us to build sanitation buildings like this one which is coming along rather nicely (if you read this blog regularly, you'll notice that I used the same adverb the last time I talked about this construction. I gotta get a thesaurus!). It's a WC and will be used principally by the students and teachers of the secondary school who now have to walk a good distance to take care of Mother Nature.

High school latrine
Now that the foundation is all dug up (remember the teens who volunteered?) our more experienced men have taken over. It's very important that this part be well done. We certainly don't want any seepage getting into the ground water. This latrine is made possible by a grant from Rotary International.
