Today is special on many levels. We celebrate the feast of Mary, Mother of God and it is the first day of 2008. It is a little more special for Haitians as today is their Independence Day. Folks from all over try their best to get home and have some traditional pumpkin soup. Today is also the beginning of my tenth year here in Haiti. Ten years ago I landed in Port-au-Prince and, let me tell you, I had no clue what was in store for me.
