New friends

 Hizzoner Larry and Jackson
 Joe and Claudette
John
These three gentlemen come from my homestate.  Larry is the current mayor of Lewiston, ME where I was born and brought up.  Joe is a professor and IT (information technology) expert from Portland.  And John is a contractor from my hometown.  They've been helping us with small projects and are painting classrooms in the secondary school.  The kids will be very grateful when they come to school on Ash Wednesday.  They are off from school as the country celebrates Kanaval, a Haitian version of Mardi Gras.

Welcome back, Linda

Linda, our Guest House Manager, is back from a visit with her family and friends in Massachusetts.  John is one of the many boys who stopped in to greet her.  Good to have you back, Linda.

John

I know, I know.  John was on the blog a little while ago (MaTante's B'day) but I snapped his photo and here he is.  Can't help the fact that he's so darn photogenic.

John

Little John came by the Quad for a visit. We cleaned him up a tad and then gave him some TrailMix which he shared with his friends.

Buddies

John and Romadin hanging out in their school uniforms. John's mother died a couple of months ago but he is coping well. Mothers' Day was celebrated last week and that was tough for all those who are orphans. For many of the children here, like John, Espwa has become their family. We are far more than a school or an institutional residence, we are family.

Little John

Waddaya mean I look like a bug? I think it's a sophisticated look. Why, Paige just told me that I was super cute. So there!

John

This is a direct result of my preaching. My homiletics professor was right after all. Who needs Lunesta? Have trouble sleeping? Let me send you one of my sermons. That'll do the trick.

Friday Night

John, Father Charlie and James sitting around the table on our traditional Friday night gathering. James was here for the first time but plans on returning. He has tons of experience in well-digging and will be a great asset. Like John, he comes from Michigan.
