Moise or Moses
This is Moise (Moses in English) Lucien. He showed up at my door this morning asking for refuge. His mother is deceased (2006) and his father is handicapped. An aunt took him but passed away last year. He was taken into servitude (restavek) and things went sour. They refused to send him to school; he ate leftovers when they had some and was beaten regularly. Moses has a cousin here and so he ran away from the abuse to find safety among us. He is fourteen and will sleep peacefully now. I know I repeat myself with the following but it is true. This is what your support allows us to do-- provide a safe place for a child, food to eat, school to attend, medical care...
