Harsh reality
Saw this little boy this morning at the Fair. He was tied down, could not speak or seem to comprehend us. We were told that he ran away from an orphanage and that he was "fou" - a catch-all word for all people who do not act normally. We gave the man who appeared to be in charge some money to buy him food but then what? There are no safety nets for children like him here in Haiti. We at Espwa can barely make ends meet so to consider caring for children like him is foolish. Or is it?
