Sonsonn
We brought Sonsonn to our clinic and the doc said that he was protein malnourished with the bloated stomach, skinny limbs and that he most likely had parasites. His skin is in terrible shape, scabies and something else. We'll put him on a special diet, treat him for parasites and take care of his skin condition. Sonsonn is soft-spoken, apparently bright and polite. He did not appear real excited to be with us nor did he seem all that broken-hearted to have been abandoned. Could be some psychological affect thing due to being poorly nourished or something else. Our counselor will speak with him at length to see what else we can do for him. Meanwhile, you can keep him in your prayers.
Jackson Jean-Baptiste
A woman came to LaMadonne this morning with her son in tow. They sat and waited for a while and then the mother said that she was going out to buy some fried dough. She never returned. Jackson (nickname: Sonsonn) is ten years old and was in the second grade at a small school in Sovo. One of our housemothers comes from that area so we will track the mother down and get more info but if she is willing to abandon him here with us he is probably gonna be our newest Espwa child. With all that is going on here, the mother may have very good reasons to leave Sonsonn with us. This is partly our fault as we have a very good reputation.

Characters who care
Judex
Rico
Joanel
SonSonn
All the above are exceptional in that they are extremely helpful with the younger children. Judex is also very good as a translator; Rico is a star soccer player; Joanel is tops in his class and runs the Children's Liturgy every Sunday; Sonsonn, also, is very bright and at the head of his class, is the captain of Baobab (one of our more accomplished singing groups) and does a bang-up job in training the children for peer formation.

Sonsonn
This is Sonsonn. He spent a great deal of time outside of G&B's and Star Market wiping down cars and offering to help the customers. Unlike other street kids, Sonsonn would go home at night and give his mother the tips he made during the day so that she could buy food for his three brothers and two sisters. We offered him a place with us months ago but he refused as he felt he was letting down the family. When his mother found this out she convinced him to join us at Espwa Village. Sonsonn is 12 years old.
