TIH-- This is Haiti. The Guest House car was packed with Peter and Linda's bags and we were sharing a last cup of java. Johnny came in to announce that the car had a flat tire. Oh, well, at least it wasn't raining! The bags were transferred to the vehicle I use and off they went.

Carmelle

Remember the photo of the wounded foot yesterday? Well, it belongs to Carmelle, Francois' younger sister. Our docs were able to look her over this morning and she will be fine. They took the opportunity to teach Linda how to remove sutures.
Carmelle was the housekeeper for a large family in Pap when the earthquake struck. Only she survived and was buried for 24 hours before she was rescued. It is a miracle that not one bone was broken as a ton of cement blocks fell on her.

Lunch with the ladies

Invited the three ladies from the Guest House for lunch today. Dino prepared a chicken, cheese and mashed potato casserole which was well received. Didn't think to take the photo when the table was set but you get the idea.

It isn't all work and misery down here. Here's a photo of Linda, our Guest House Manager, taking some time out to show Estanley how to blow bubbles. Another hidden talent that we did not know Linda had!!

Welcome to Linda and Peter

Peter and Linda Faford of Worcester, MA have just joined the team down here. Peter is a deacon and an electrical engineer. He'll be the point of contact for all construction projects-- a huge help. Linda has agreed to manage the guest house and will be doing outreach, too. Please join me in giving them a hearty welcome.
