Fresh coconuts

Paige scoops out coconut meat while Fery, myself and Brother Robert look on.
It took no time at all for a small crowd to come out and see the "blans".
Older sister came with her siblings.
Ezekiel is eleven and would like to attend school but his family can't afford it.
The most popular complaint of the folks was that there are no jobs.  No jobs translates into no school for the kids and that means no future for them.  "Can you help us?" was repeated over and over.  We said we'd try.

ID cards

Paige and her assistant, Clarence
Paige is working on polishing the ID card project which is nicely dovetailing with the info from our archives.  This is important because it's the database for the sponsorship program which we hope to have up and running very soon.  I'm looking to have this operational before the summer.  Cross your fingers.

International Food Relief Program

Paige, International Food Relief Program (IFRP) Manager, was in Camp-Perrin yesterday delivering fortified rice packets to the children in our school.
This is the largest class in the school-- almost 100 children in one classroom.  IFRP is co-sponsored by USAID and Cross International.

Lunch with the ladies

Invited the three ladies from the Guest House for lunch today. Dino prepared a chicken, cheese and mashed potato casserole which was well received. Didn't think to take the photo when the table was set but you get the idea.

Happy B'day, Raymond

Paige, Raymond and Father Charlie
We celebrated Raymond's birthday last evening. Raymond is on his sixth year with us and is currently managing the housing project for the poor. He is with us from mid fall through mid spring and gets more done in that time than most who would be here an entire year. Joyeuse anniversaire, Raymond!!

A terrific gift

Paige and I are standing in front of a quilt she put together while home in December. It is made up of small pieces of cloth autographed by the kids. Creative, thoughtful and tons of work, this is the best gift I could have received for our anniversary. Thank you, kids, and thank you very much, Paige.
