To the right of the clinic entrance are two small white gardenias and a bud about to happen. Came across them today for the first time. Showed them to the nurses and they ooohhed and aaahhed. Showed them to some kids who were nearby and they said, "Yeah, so?" and gave me that generational look. See, pretty normal, huh?
Fr. Marc,
ReplyDeleteThat is one beautiful gardenia........
A flower is always a hopeful sign that signifies rebirth. Unfortunately the kids today have been conditioned to expect i-pods, mp3 players, x-boxes, etc. I guess the grandparents of these kids fell down on the job. If we had been better at teaching our kids the benefits of helping people instead of, who has the most toys, maybe the world wouldn't be in such terrible shape.
ReplyDeleteI lived in the tropics as a teen...so I can smell your lovely flower in my head even though 'tis snowing here!
ReplyDeleteToday, driven by a wish to help, I set up my own blogspot. I have every intention of somehow mentioning Pwoje Espwa in each post. If I can herd even one powerful person in your direction, I will be satisfied.
at least they didn't pick it.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the rice fields... did it take?
ReplyDeleteFr. Marc,
