Friends of Berthony gathered this afternoon to wish him all the best as he celebrates his birthday.  We had stuffed pastries, pizza, a lop-sided cake and the obligatory sparkling wine.  We wish him joy, health and much success.  Many happy returns, Berthony.

Berthony's day

Today is Berthony Piard's birthday. He is now 38 so we put on a special show which included the folklore dance troupe above. The show was followed by a special meal (Guess? Yup, chicken with rice in a bean sauce with all the fixins.) The celebration followed Berthony Junior's baptism.

Berthony, my assistant here, has taken over the management of a small restaurant near Camp-Perrin. All the buses and trucks from Jeremie stop here and it's a watering hole for the locals in the evening. Berthony invested a few dollars in some paint and putty and the place looks terrific. We wish him well in this new endeavor as this is a wonderful example for the kids.

Yesterday, April 4th, was Berthony's birthday. We had a very special party in his honor with kids of all age groups dancing, singing, reciting. Here's a photo of our birthday boy with Camille, his wife, and their 7 month old daughter, Bercame.
