Update

There is only one road from Port-au-Prince to Les Cayes and it is now impassable. One of the mountains that has to be climbed has split in two leaving a huge chasm, effectively cutting off means of transportation for people and goods. Other parts of the road are buried under rubble and landslides. People take buses or tap-taps, disembark to traverse the obstacles on foot and then try and pick up transportation on the other side. Those of us in the south are dependent on Port-au-Prince for food, fuel and all commodities. This leaves us in a desperate situation as we only have enough food for two weeks. I anticipate that there will be a mass exodus of people from Port-au-Prince once the dead are found and buried. People will be arriving in desperate need of medical care, shelter and food. We need your help to be able to address their needs. Please continue to pray for our Haitian sisters and brothers. May God bless all our efforts.

  6. I have posted your web site to all Rotary clubs in our region. One question asked of me was if we send money how will they get the supplies since roads are closed? Will you have access to get supplies?

  7. Fr. Marc can a fund be set up so that people can direct money to Theo's Work for earthquake victim relief. I know people are motivated to collect money for that purpose. This could help to bring in donations to help those that will make their way to you for help.
    Thank You

  8. Fr. Marc,
My heart is with you, the kids, and ALL the people of and in Haiti. You and the kids are never far from my mind. I want to be there right now, but sent a donation for now. I have posted your blog/website on facebook, encouraging donations. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. Take care of yourself.

  9. It is my hope that the donating countries will work to repair the road as soon as possible. There are supplies we can purchase now in anticipation but we have no cash. We are trying to connect with the US military to see if humanitarian aid can be shipped through them. Communications is the barrier at this time.

  10. Received info today that UPS is shipping packages under 50 lbs for free from US to Haiti..if that helps...let us know what supplies are most needed and contributions. Some want to differentiate monetary donations for quake assistance too. Many folks are sharing info BEST Always.
