Guerlain is having a new prosthetic shoe support made by Bernadelle, one of our graduates. Bernadelle runs the only physical therapy clinic in town and is doing well. Guerlain was relieved that this was painless and was very happy to return home to Castel-Pere this afternoon. Posted by Picasa

Here's a happy bunch of teens and the reason is simple: they are the new Champions of the Summer Soccer Games here in town. The goat is not our mascot. He was part of the prize. Great going, guys!!! Posted by Picasa

This is a great example of recycling. What was once a cement bag is now a dapper head covering! Pierre-Michel is the proud owner! Posted by Picasa

Nick took this photo earlier this afternoon of the Primary School. The walls are all up, the columns are done, the floors have been poured but we had to stop as the money has run out. The windows need to be done, the doors need to be fabricated under Father Bal's direction, the courtyard and the roof remain unfinished. Got any loose change handy?  Posted by Picasa

Good news !!

Remember Lucien in the wheelchair and then with crutches on his way to Port-au-Prince? He had successful surgery and is recuperating well. His leg now has a pin in it but he'll be running and jumping real soon. We are indebted to Father Rick Frechette, csp, who made this happen. Father Rick is a physician and works with the poorest of the poor in P-a-P but he always finds time to help those of us in the provinces. God bless you and protect you, Fr. Rick.
