Agriculture

 chou/cabbage

zonyon/onions
pwa nwa/black beans
As soon as the rainy season ended (about four weeks ago) Toussaint, our agronomist, and his crew planted cabbage, onions and black beans.  Looks like about 20 acres worth.  Wished I liked cabbage a bit more than I do.

Here's a shot of a few of our cabbage heads straight from the garden. The kids'll be eating spicy coleslaw tonight and sauerkraut tomorrow.

Cabbage Patch

It may be Christmas day but the work goes on. Animals need tending, gardens need watering and the kids need to be occupied. Our cabbages are doing well but they need to be watered regularly. We have a delicious recipe for spicy coleslaw (piklise) that's the perfect compliment to fried plantains.
