Mishap

On the way back from Port-au-Prince to drop off two formators from Maison Arc-en-Ciel for our AIDS Prevention Program, our driver took to a ditch rather than be hit head-on by a tractor trailer truck.  No one was hurt and the damage was essentially cosmetic.  That's why it's a mishap and not an accident (in my book).

  1. Que veut dire 'formators' en anglais? Teachers?

  2. I'm so glad everyone is okay. I love the way life in Haiti puts things in perspective. I've only made the drive between PAP and Cayes (as a passenger) a few times, but each time I've felt it was a miracle that we actually got where we were going! It's really a trip!

  3. Janina,

"Formateurs" translates into trainers but we use the term "formators", too.

  5. I remember sitting in the back of this truck when I was at Pwoje Espwa in August 2006. Nick drove us threw a river, and had it not been for four kind Haitian men that pushed us out, the vehicle may have been bound for disaster. May the Lord continue to bless all those who seek refuge in Him.
