Estanley Douyon wearing his new t-shirt and holding a soccer ball, both gifts from Jake
Though our visitors from Wisconsin have been gone a week, the kids are still asking for Jake.  Jake brought down about 50 t-shirts (like the one above) and soccer balls.  He organized a soccer tournament which was was a huge hit with the boys despite the inclement weather.  Can I tell the kids you're coming back, Jake?

  1. This is awesome. I loved playing with them and learning a couple soccer moves. I hope they can enjoy my gift until my return, which I hope is very soon.

  2. Dear Marc,

We live in a small world. I was looking through some of the more recent news releases about a cholera outbreak in Haiti, and came across a page that described the work of an Oblate priest in southern Haiti. The priest's name was Marc Boisvert. I went to Bucksport and then to Natick with a fellow by that I read on, only to discover that the Haitian missionary and my fellow seminarian are one and the same......The words of a Grateful Dead song are ringing in my ears....

"What a long strange trip it's been!"

Like you, I left Natick in the early '70's.. Unlike you, things with the girl that I fell in love with worked out.....We've been married for 35+ years. After Natick, I went on to earn a MS and then a PhD, started and raised a family (one son and one daughter), and worked my way up the academic ladder, from post doc, to Assistant Professor, Associate Prof, then full Associate Dean.
I'm writing to you to find out if there is anything we can do here to help you there. The financial contribution is an obvious option, but I'd like to inquire if there are other things that my wife and I can do to help. For the past 25 years, she has run a Nursery she's got toys and books and clothes that are still in good shape and could be put to good use. The question is how to get them from us to you.

Please drop a line when you can, and keep up the good work!
