New girls

It's not all smiles all the time for the new girls.  Though they may not be able to articulate how they feel, we know that this transition is difficult for them.  Keep them and us in your prayers, please.

  1. Girls like to talk with other girls. Maybe a girl's circle time to talk with each other. Not too long, maybe 1/2 hour to and hour. Talk about anything they want. Take turns picking subjects. Maybe a young woman you know could organize...once or twice a week? Little girls like older girls. They want to do what they are doing. Maybe sit in a circle and do a clapping game or sing.
    We'll pray.

  2. With a pencil, paper and some crayons, almost every child can express some portion of their buried troubles and fears. They should have the option to share these creations or to keep them private. Sometimes, just getting a thought or feeling out onto paper, then throwing it away, can be a great relief to an individual!

  3. The Heartline Clinic has been doing some art therapy with the children. They are really engaged in it and have proudly hung all of their pictures on the wall. I believe they were using glitter paint.
