Preparations

Transportation is being worked on to bring over a hundred orphans from Leogane (the epicenter of the quake) to join us here. They will need everything: food, clothing, shoes, towels, sheets, mattresses, beds, medical attention, personal hygiene stuff... your continued support is critical for us to assist them in their time of need.
In the long term, we will need to construct decent housing for them but one thing at a time. God, give us strength!

  1. I cannot even begin to imagine the trauma these children have endured. You all remain in my prayers.

  2. My husband and daughter were in Haiti working with a missionary group in Leogane when the earthquake hit. I have been following your blog for a while (since I went to Haiti in 2008) and I feel relief that children from this area I feel so tied to will be taken care of.

(My family is fine, btw, and were evacuated out several days ago.)

  3. Father, Is it better to send the items listed or money? Can either be sent to the NC address?

If you have a way of getting in contact with someone who has 2-way audio in the Leogane or Grand Goave areas, they have an air slot on commercial radio for this evening in Seattle for a live interview with their paramedics. They're in one town or the other today, they could be back in Jacmel tonight. Very fluid situation and we have no 2-way with them at all.

Slot is 3-7 PST, the station would like to do it live using their on-air personality if possible but they would air a canned interview if that's the best we can do. They want Paul Cretella if possible.

There's no such thing as bad publicity and this would help raise awareness and affinity for those hard-hit and long-suffering regions.

If you reply to me, I will forward to Stephen Nuchia who is coordinating this.

  5. Dear Anonymous,

Best thing right now is money sent to the address on the header of this blog in North Carolina. Shipping takes time and the need is now. Thank you very much.
